Glacial Playfulness at High Altitude
Skiwear in luxury houses often suffers from an acute lack of humor. For decades, winter capsules have veered between two predictable poles: either the stiff, hyper-technical neon armor of Olympic athletes or the gilded, heavy-handed faux-fur decadence favored by oligarchs in Courchevel. Chanel has long held a different key to the slopes. With its Coco Neige 2026 capsule, the house steps onto the powdered summit with a playful, retro-tinged wink, photographed by Julien Martinez Leclerc against towering snowdrifts, frosted spruce pines, and traditional timber chalets.
The visual narrative, starring models Elodie Guipaud, Feng Jiao Long, and Lia Marie Mielke, treats alpine sport not as an exercise in high-stress endurance, but as an open-air playground. The house’s sacred palette of black, snow-white, and warm ecru is jolted awake by vivid primary hits: cobalt, lemon, and a dominant, unmistakable lacquer red that cuts cleanly through the mountain mist. What makes this outing particularly charming is its joyful subversion of high-altitude codes: a whimsical bestiary of waddling penguins and polar bears infiltrates the wardrobe, trading solemn technical jargon for genuine, unpretentious delight.

Primary Geometry and Retro Piste Tailoring
The collection balances retro-maritime knitwear with agile technical suiting. Consider the fire-red ski bib: cut with relaxed, boyish proportions and zippered deep through the torso, the trousers flare slightly over ski boots with graphic turquoise and cream athletic stripes racing around the knees. Layered over an ivory ribbed-knit turtleneck emblazoned with a giant black Double C emblem and accessorized with plush shearling mittens and red-rimmed visor goggles, the look channels the graphic energy of late-1970s downhill championships without losing its Parisian poise.
The technical windbreaker takes an artistic pivot with a blouson printed with an idyllic alpine vista. Cut in windproof silk-blend nylon, the bomber jacket captures snowy jagged peaks under a cerulean sky, stamped dead-center across the back with a monumental white Double C monogram framed in crimson piping. Worn with dark grey ski tights, it turns the mountain horizon into an aerodynamic canvas.
Elsewhere, comfort rules off-piste. A black knit catsuit trimmed with white racing stripes is paired with a heavy cobalt-blue cashmere scarf finished with oversized pom-poms, carried alongside a padded nylon tote color-blocked in orange, royal blue, and black. Trailing behind, a model plays in the drifts wearing an oversized shearling trapper chapka, the fluffy earflaps framing oversized mirrored tortoiseshell ski shields with a casual shrug.
La marcha de los pingüinos
The true wit of Coco Neige 2026 lives in its irreverent wildlife motifs. Chanel has never taken itself so seriously that it cannot welcome a penguin into its jewelry box.
Look closely at the white visor sunglasses: wrapping the temples with aerodynamic flair, they reflect a panoramic alpine ridge while framing dangling drop earrings shaped like enamel-suited penguins perched on tiny silver Double C studs.
In front of a snow-dusted black timber chalet, a tomato-red knit cardigan is layered with a plush cream shearling scarf and matching mittens, embroidered with the black CC logo. Clipped onto the lobes are miniature penguin studs, balanced by polar-bear pins that peek out from the red wool with deadpan charm.
The motif reaches its peak in high-altitude outerwear: a voluminous, knee-length coat crafted from contrasting black and white plush shearling that gives the wearer the literal silhouette of a regal emperor penguin. The coat features high black shoulders, a clean white torso, a black funnel collar with a flash of red piping, and a curly shearling hemline. Slung over the shoulder is an oval shearling cross-body bag shaped like a penguin head, complete with an orange leather beak and golden Double C eyes. It is witty, tactile, and delightfully eccentric.
Snowmen and Quilted Pillows
Accessories close out the campaign with pure levity. The iconic quilted flap bag is translated into glossy scarlet down-filled nylon, topped with silver chain straps and resting proudly like an aristocratic hat atop a giant sculpted snowman, whose eyes and nose are composed of enamel penguin and polar bear brooches.
Beside it, a girl balances a monumental snowball on her head while wearing a curly white shearling storm jacket and deep burgundy wool mittens, carrying a quilted burgundy nylon shopper bag emblazoned with an oversized varsity-style terrycloth CC crest.
Even a solitary penguin minaudière, carved from black-and-white shearling with an orange beak, sits nestled in fresh powder beside bird tracks trailing off into the spruce woods.
Chanel proves that true luxury at three thousand meters does not require self-important brooding. By blending technical warmth with vintage boyish tailoring and an unapologetic sense of humor, Coco Neige 2026 delivers winter style that feels fresh, warm, and thoroughly alive.
